Terms of Use

These Terms apply to the APNEA Watch app for Apple Watch and iPhone (the “app”) and to the website apnea.watch. By using the app or the website you agree to them. Please also read the Privacy Policy and the safety information below.

1. Who we are

APNEA Watch is provided by xbranch (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@apnea.watch.

2. The app and your licence

The app is free. It is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and Apple’s terms for apps from the App Store also apply. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control. Please do not copy, resell or misuse the app or present yourself as us.

The app is intended for adults (18 years or older). Features and availability may differ by device, region and software version.

3. What the app is — and is not

APNEA Watch is a training log. It records time, depth, the moments you mark and, if you allow it, sensor readings such as heart rate and water temperature, so you can review your sessions.

It is not a safety device, medical device, dive computer or emergency service. It does not detect or prevent blackout or drowning, does not monitor you, cannot call for help and does not tell you when it is safe to dive again.

4. Safety and your responsibility

Breath-hold training and diving can cause blackout, serious injury, drowning or death — also in shallow water and after surfacing. Never practise in-water apnea alone. Train with a qualified buddy who watches every attempt, follow proper instruction, never hyperventilate to extend a hold and stop if you feel unwell. You decide whether and how to train; never rely on the app for your safety.

5. Measurements and limits

Automatic start and stop use the watch’s depth sensor and react to the watch, not to your breathing or airway. Times, depths, heart rate and other values can be late, missing or inaccurate, for example because of sensor limits, Water Lock, battery, software updates or how you wear the watch. Timers and pace cues are aids you configure, not medical or safety advice.

6. Your data

Your sessions are stored on your Apple Watch and iPhone and synchronised directly between them. We do not run a server for app data and do not have access to your records. Keep backups through your device settings if they matter to you. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue the app or the website. We aim to keep the app working well but cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. We may update these Terms; the date above shows the current version, and important changes will be announced in the app or on this website.

8. Liability

The app is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for decisions you make about training or diving based on the app.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

9. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in your local courts.
